About eco-friendly clothing
Environmentally friendly (or eco-friendly) clothing is clothing where its production and the processes involved are considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment. Organic clothing is one area growing rapidly in popularity in this area – organic clothing products are made without pesticides, fertilizers, chemicals, genetic modifications, or artificial additives. To combat false claims, these clothing products can only be marketed as such if they have been certified as organic.
Eco-friendly clothing, however, is a much wider less specific term, and the labels sometimes used to identify these products have beeen considered too vague in many instances, because there is no single international standard for the concept
Generally speaking, clothing items made from organically grown fibers, such as wool, cotton, hemp, soy or bamboo, grown without the use of pesticides or produced without toxic fabric finishes can be considered to be eco-friendly.
For example, organic cotton is grown using organic farming practices and without toxic chemicals. These organic methods of agriculture are inherently better for our bodies, our family, our homes, our planet and for future generations.
The organic farming method produces a fabric that is thicker, softer and longer lasting than conventional, chemically processed cotton. Organic cotton baby clothes are incredibly soft and super absorbent yet breathable– the healthiest choice for your baby’s sensitive skin.
